Nicaragua is the largest country in Latin America and has many national parks, nature reserves, and biological reserves. The country is bordered by Honduras to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the east, Costa Rica to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Children ages 3 and older are available for adoption. Currently, the Nicaragua program is on hold. Please contact your adoption consultant for more information.
How to Start the Nicaragua Adoption Process
- Fill out our no-commitment registration form and an adoption consultant will contact you with more information.
- Complete an application for the Uganda adoption program. Remember, the application process at Adoption ARK is always free.
- If you decide this program is for you, request an adoption agreement from your consultant, complete it, and send it in to our Illinois office with the initial fee. (Your contract will be reviewed and approved by our director, and then you will be assigned a caseworker to complete your adoption.)
- Your caseworker will inform you of the steps needed to move forward with your adoption. Some of these steps include:
-Completing an adoption homestudy with a licensed social worker
-Applying with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
-Collect the documents for your adoption dossier
- Your adoption dossier will be sent to Nicaragua and Adoption ARK will request a referral for a child available for intercountry adoption.
- Finally, travel to Nicaragua will be arranged. The length of adoption travel to Nicaragua is approx. 3 months.
Through the entire process, Adoption ARK will be with you guiding you through the adoption process and offering support.
