Who is this little girl in the pink outfit from our Russian information page?
As a consultant for Adoption Ark I am asked this all the time. I am proud to say that this beautiful child is my daughter. Yana was adopted at age 4 through Adoption Ark. Soon afterwards, I began working for this agency and we needed a photo of one of our Russian children for this page. Of course, I thought of my own daughter and loved this photo. Little did I know at the time that Yana would become the poster child for our Russian program. This photo has kindled an interest in so many parents to adopt from Russia. It makes me so happy to know that Yana, in her own way, has helped many other kids find their forever families.
That photo was taken in 2003 at age 4 and now she is 8 years old…hard to believe! This is Yana now..
This was taken at one of her gymnastic meets. She is a competitive gymnast and earned many medals…as she will be quick to tell youJ. She also loves bugs, drawing and math. When she grows up she wants to be a gymnastic entomologistJ. Yana is a determined young lady and when she puts her mind to something she gets the job done. Her enthusiasm for life, sweetness and infectious laugh continue to brighten our lives. She has brought us more joy than we could have ever hoped for.
