This email that we place on our website after receiving the parents' approval speaks for itself. We feel very good when an orphan child is placed with a good adoptive family, but we feel even happier when a special needs child is placed with a great, loving family.
Hello Elina,
We wanted to catch you up on how our family is doing; GREAT! Mia is the most precious gift God has ever given us and we couldn't be happier.
She had a checkup Monday the 11th and is doing well. Since we brought her home (Feb) she has gained over 6 lbs and grown over 4 inches steadily. The doctors are very happy with her progress and although she is still small for her age she is proportionate in her size.
We are involved with "Birth to Three" it's a free service in our state that helps children with delays. Mia has a physical therapist, a speech therapist and a developmental specialist. All are doing great work with her and see improvements every week. She is very easygoing and social-she hardly ever is in a bad mood, although she has hit the "terrible two's" now. Everything is her way or no way.
She goes to daycare two days a week for six hours a day. This is purely for her benefit-she enjoys having little friends and doing the arts/projects there. If you have any specific questions, please ask. We've attached a few newer pictures.
