We found our daughter, Masha, in a region we originally said we did not want to travel to. Something told us to go ahead anyhow and we found her. She is a beautiful, smart, sweet, mischievous child. My parents swear I went to Russia and had a child and didn't tell anyone because her personality is just like mine.)
After being home almost 9 months, Masha has made unbelievable growth physically, emotionally, and intellectually. She came home at 28 pounds and 36 inches tall. 9 months later she is now 37 pounds and 42 inches tall. Her English language skills are that of any native born American child her age. She is very affectionate with our family and is well attached.
One thing to keep in mind: when you travel overseas, whether for an adoption or vacation, things can go wrong. Don’t let these things deter you. You must have to have faith that God has a reason for everything and you are just along for the ride.
The overseas facilitators with Adoption Ark were wonderful, and all of the Adoption Ark staff are priceless. They are patient, honest, and sympathetic. We have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. They are ladies full of integrity, working to help children in need.
If we were to adopt another child in the future, we would definitely use Adoption Ark again and would most likely request the same region of Russia again. We loved the region, the people there, and the baby house in the region is outstanding.
