In June 2004, we contacted Alla for information on adopting from Kazakhstan. I received a reply with all the answers to my questions within hours. I knew from that moment we had found the perfect agency for us. Throughout the next few months, Alla gave us all the support and guidance we needed while waiting to bring a daughter home. Alla became more than a coordinator; she became a friend.
We traveled to Kazakhstan in January 2005 where we met a beautiful 8 month old baby girl. When they first showed us her picture, I knew I was looking at my daughter. They brought her in, placed her in my arms, and she looked up at me and smiled. It was if she knew that I was her mother.
Alayna has adjusted wonderfully to being home. When we first met her she could only hold her head up, roll on her back, and was 14 lbs. Once we brought her home, we took her to the pediatrician’s where she was given a thumbs up, and in 6 short weeks she has grown to the 50% on height and weight! A week after arriving home she was sitting on her own. She is now 11 months old and is walking holding on to furniture. She says mama and dada, gives kisses, waves bye bye, and claps her hands. It is like she was always here!
Alla, I cannot thank you enough for your dedication in helping us adopt Alayna. Your unending patience and understanding will never be forgotten.
